Some players are confused by the term PR in Warzone.

In-game slang can be difficult for those new to the scene to grasp. At times, it can seem that the gaming world has its own vocabulary, and hoping into a new title requires a brand new section of the dictionary to decipher. Call of Duty: Warzone is no different.

What is a PR in Warzone?

Put simply: PR is an acronym for "personal record." It stands for the highest or best amount of a variable a player has ever managed to accrue in a single match. Usually, it refers to the number of eliminations or PKs—player kills.

Gamers have been shortening terms for as long as games have had phrases to be shortened. This is usually done via text chat to streamline communication but has since bled into voice chat.

One popular example is "KD" or "KDA" referring to a player's "Kill to Death" or "Kill to Death to Assist" ratio either on average or in a match. Another lesser-known term, "PUG," stands for "Pick-Up Group" or a group of random players matched—"picked-up"—by the game to complete an objective.

Warzone players have also been known to shorten weapon models and categories in a similar way. For example, the assault rifle is "AR," long machinegun is "LMG," sniper rifle is "SR," and so on.
