My Students
Our school is a special place for me and my students! At my school, almost 50% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I teach a classroom full of amazing kids that have a wealth of untapped potential.
My students face significant challenges in their lives, but that never stops them from giving everything they have to learn every day!
In the words of the infamous Mrs. Frizzle, they always, "Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!" A step into our classroom is a step into fun. Each student works hard to be a "Super Kid" in our superhero-themed classroom and the school as a whole.
We make sure to integrate a fun hands-on approach to everything we do. These students have big dreams and they are not afraid to pursue them. I am currently teaching the world's future botanists, senators, and engineers.
My Project
Pixton Comics storybook creator will help my students show what they know about history, science, and writing. It will allow my students a fun medium to bring their learning to life! They will create high-quality comic books/graphic novels explaining historical events, scientific discoveries or to support their writing. Drawing a comic is fun but making your avatar and the avatars to match all the characters in your story is even better! It is so easy, user-friendly, and fun that the kids won't be able to stop! Bonus points because they will be able to share all their learning with their family across the country! With a click of a button, anyone can share in their success!
