I am a Middle School Reading and Language Arts Teacher. I teach in a small k-12 rural school. I have made it my mission to help students both inside and outside of the classroom by being not only a teacher but a mentor and friendly face with in the community. Being from a small, low income school district we face challenges many larger districts do not. My first Donors Choose mission is to create a library of Chromebooks that can be checked out to those who do not have access to a home computer. I was surprised when I gave my first "out of class assignment" when a handful of students came to me after class and expressed their concern, they either didn't have a reliable computer at home or didn't have one at all! I will make a difference in my classroom, one student and Chromebook at a time!
