Is There Cross Progression in Apex Legends?

Cross Progression in Apex Legends has long been requested by the community. This is because the game is available on multiple platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows (Steam and Origin). A Nintendo Switch version is planned for release in 2021. Cross progression allows players to connect their accounts across multiple platforms. This means that players will be able to access their unlocked contents from different platforms.

Is There Cross Progression in Apex Legends?

Cross-progression is not available for Apex Legends at this time, but Respawn say it is a valuable feature.

The developers will talk more about it during the Steam launch "later in the year."

On Nov. 27, Design Director at Respawn Entertainment Jason McCord responded to a tweet saying, "We hear you, and know that people want it. I want it too. We can't talk about anything that hasn't been announced though, sorry." Even though the feature is currently not available, the developer has acknowledged the community request related to cross-progression. While Respawn is currently looking at the options, players are able to do cross-progression between recently-released Steam and Origin, both are on PC platforms.

On the other hand, cross-play is available for Apex players in Season 7. It lets players play with their friends who are on different platforms. The cross-platform capability can be enabled and disabled. Here is how to connect with friends on other platforms:

1) Log in and load up Apex Legends

2) Go to Friends menu from the main screen

3) Click/press on the Find Friend option

4) Type in player's in-game tag and click/press on Search

The cross-play ability can be disabled by accessing the Settings menu. Doing this will reduce the number of potential players to match with in a game.
