Roald in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a cute, and popular penguin villager. When new players start their Animal Crossing adventure, many wonder how to choose which villager to join your island. Now you can deny entrance to your village with certain dialogue choices when you first encounter some of the animals, but you can't go and find specific ones. It's completely random.
Roald has appeared in every iteration of the game so far, and his name could possibly be based on Roald Amundsen, the first person to reach Antarctica. He has a Jock personality, and enjoys belly dancing.

Sadly, you can't invite specific villagers to your island unless you randomly come across them in the wild. While exploring other islands or receiving guest visitors, you'll have the opportunity to invite certain villagers to stay permanently.
If you happen to come across Roald, do everything your power to make him stay. Usually, responding positively to what villagers say or ask will always be a plus. If they like working out and being optimistic, make sure to respond in kind.
