El Mago, reportedly a member of the Sinaloa Cartel has been shot fatally as per Borderland Beat. The incident occurred amid the Willowbrook, Los Angeles shooting. As per the reports, on November 23, in the morning, the assault took place. When the police officials reached the scene, one man was rushed to the hospital and two men were lying dead and being shot. The first man got severe injuries.
As per revelation by NBC Los Angeles, around 8:20 a.m. the shooting took place in the 14200 block of Towne Avenue. This place is located near Rosecrans Avenue. Until now the real motive behind the killing has not been discovered by Sheriff Lt. Omar Camacho. However, it is speculated that the fatal shooting took place after a people gathering or a party that occurred at the crime spot.
Law enforcement stated that the victims lie between the age group of 20 to 30. At the time of writing of this article, no arrests were made or no one was taken into custody. The public is still unaware of the shooter who fatally shot two people to death and another to severe injuries.
Sheriff Lt. Omar Camacho said, “It’s too early in the investigation to figure out if we have a possible suspect detained or witnesses that we still need to contact.” Near the crime scene, some vehicles could be found like a BMW Coupe, a Chevrolet, and a black Cadillac Escalade. Evidence including shell casings from the scene could be found as well.
A Mexico-based journalist with the username, @ioangrillo speculated on X that, El Mago’s death is interlinked with El Nini’s arrest in Mexico. He added, “Those close to El Nini are being hit.” However, until now law enforcement has not confirmed the same.
As per Borderland Beat, El Mago was linked with Ivan, the eldest son of El Chapo and Los Chapitos. Either Eddie Hernandez or Eddie Escobedo is the original name of El Mago. As per arrest reports, his name is Eddie Escobedo. El Mago hails from Durango, Mexico. Later he was operating in California until his death.
The shooting is currently being investigated by Los Angeles law enforcement officials. Thus, the officials have not revealed the identities of other victims involved.
